ALTRON, a.s. built two data centers for Seznam.cz — Nagoja (2022–2023) and Kokura 3 (2023–2024).
Both data centers are controlled by Altrix control units developed by ALTRON and equipped with REXYGEN control system licenses. Each data center operates 15 REXYGEN licenses running in the local network.

The control algorithms were developed by ALTRON engineers, who attended several REXYGEN training courses provided by REX Controls — from basic to advanced topics, including problem-oriented sessions focused on data center control tasks. Throughout the entire project, REX Controls provided ALTRON engineers with priority technical support.

One of the most demanding tasks was the control of the data hall cooling system. The PID H∞ Designer tool: www.pidlab.com. The high quality of differential pressure control in individual server room aisles is evident from the image in the gallery, which shows one week of operation. During this period, a communication failure with the control system occurred for approximately one day, during which the air conditioning units operated autonomously. During the outage, the control performance deteriorated significantly, leading to roughly double the energy consumption. 

Another complex task was the control of diesel generators to provide power balance services for the electrical supply system. The control algorithms were developed jointly by engineers from ALTRON, Gusto Energy, and Seznam.cz, and were commissioned with development and technical support from REX Controls, particularly in the area of phase synchronisation. The substation in the Kokura 3 data center is technically ready to provide power balancing services.
