New generation mechatronic systems have to meet stringent performance requirements in terms of accuracy, speed, reliability and safety. Our company tries to identify the gaps between the state-of-the-art research and industrial practice and brings novel unconventional solutions for high-performance motion control systems which span many application domains.
An example of such advanced mechatronics is an automatic calibration system for a CNC lathe realized in cooperation the company Vítkovice Mechanika. The goal was to control motorized pistons of machine support to achieve a correct alignment of workpieces in the process of large crankshafts machining. The developed system relies on a set of wireless micrometers and smart signal processing algorithms capable of automatic reconstruction of the workpiece geometry. This approach replaced a formerly used tedious and unreliable manual measurement procedure and considerably shortened the whole production cycle.
