TESLA Liptovský Hrádok (Slovakia) supplied a battery storage system with a capacity of 1118 kWh and a power of 550 kW to the Okoličné small hydropower plant in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia. More information about this battery storage system can be found on the TESLA Energy Group website.
The control system supplier was ALTRON, a.s., for which our company REX Controls s.r.o. developed and deployed the control algorithms and local Human-Machine Interface (HMI) based on the REXYGEN system running on Altrix control units. ALTRON developed data archiving using the Telegraf system by InfluxData and visualisation of this data in Grafana.
The control system integrates the operation of numerous devices, most of which communicate via the Modbus Master TCP or RTU protocol, and provides data to the Battery Management System (BMS) via the Modbus TCP Slave protocol. In addition, the system reads direct digital inputs and sets digital outputs on the Altrix control unit. The control system manages the battery temperatures by controlling the cooling water temperature, charging and discharging of the batteries, ensures compliance with maximum charge and discharge power limits, evaluates fault conditions of individual devices, communicates with the supervisory BMS, and controls the equipment of the battery storage according to its commands.
