A system for automatic alignment of crankshafts in the machining process has been developed based on REXYGEN. The aim is to minimize the shaft elastic deformation clamped to the lathe and supported by lunettes during rotation. Elastic deformation is characterized by broadening and narrowing the space between the two neighboring arms adjacent to connecting rods. The device validates a new method for optimal crankshaft straightening by positioning of the side pistons of the supporting lunettes. The control system was done by the team of UWB / Department of Cybernetics for Vitkovice Machinery.

The new technology is one of GOLD medal awarded exhibits at International Engineering Fair Brno 2012 which is the most important industrial fair in central Europe.
